We make getting here easy, by providing private all inclusive round trip transportation for our premium, guests, and round trip for our full service guests. We have a new 28’ 350 HPlanding craft and a 20’ Koffler 115 HP Skiff. Question: What is included with the packages you offer?
A: Our premium, exclusive, private whole lodge package is all inclusive, starting with a private pick up in Homer with one of our boats (weather permitting), a tour of the south shore of Kachemak Bay, starting at Halibut Cove, Gull Island, Little Tutka Bay, Bootleggers Cove, Jackalof Bay, Mc Donald Spit, and Seldovia Bay. So, getting here can be it’s own adventure. The minimum private booking requires a three day package for four people. We can handle a comfortable six people, and we have beds for up to 10. (Discounts start at more than 4 people, call for quote of more than 6.) The best part is; only your party will be at the lodge, and you have exclusive private use of the entire property, and can select the activities according to your interest. Because we’re small, Mom and Pop owned and operated, we can offer this for a extremely low threshold of a minimum of four and up to to six people. This includes daily on shore and off shore adventures, one offshore halibut trip, or whale trip, and Janet’s famous home-cooked meals.
Our full service package is all inclusive of transportation, with transportation modality at our discretion. It includes daily adventures, and home-cooked meals. Transportation may not be private, and probably will be on the Seldovia Bay Ferry. It is likely that you will share the property with a different party, and thus not have exclusivity with selecting your daily adventures. Captain Scott has decades of real Alaskan adventure experience, and loves to show his guest His Alaska. Off shore adventures like fishing and whale watching are optional, and subject to group consensus. The lower price reflects near shore and terrestrial adventures.
Our special event packages are exclusive, private whole camp only. Price includes admission to the special event and off shore adventures. Please look at the book now options, and you are under no obligation to book until you are ready and comfortable with your decision.
Basic Glamping is shoulder season only and for the treehouse only. If you can’t find it on the calendar, that is why. Typically May and September. We will make Basic Glamping available on short notice as space is available, during peak season. We want local Alaskan’s to enjoy what we offer, as they tend to be the independent do-it-yourselfers. Best to call Scott and check. 907.982.2369
Question: What should I pack/bring to wear?
A: Treehouse Cove Lodge is an off grid wilderness lodge, that is only accessible by boat or float plane. You will need layered clothing, with the assumption that Alaska has the ability to have varied weather from hot (for us) 80 degrees, to cold, windy and rainy. Solid foot ware, that is highly water resistant is a must. Water proof boots are preferable. It’s usually cool on the water, and we have a heavy marine component to your adventures, so dress in warm layers with water proof/resistant shell, and be prepared to remove layers to adjust. We will be entering and exiting onto the beach with our new 28’ landing craft.
Question: Is there internet/cell service.
A: We encourage you to unplug, disconnect from the outside world, and reconnect with your friends and loved ones at Treehouse Cove Lodge. There is an endless change of view right out front, including entertainment from the wildlife that is always present, and the changing light and clouds. That being said, Verizon 4G is very good, marginal ATT, and no direct WiFi is available. ATT works better in the treehouse, or out on the beach. We do have a cell booster. We regularly go to Seldovia Village which has several WiFi connections so you can get caught up if needed. But most cell phones do it all, right?
Question: What can I expect for bathroom/showers, running water?
A: The Captain’s Beach House, has hot and cold running water, a bathroom with a hot shower, vanity, and a compost toilet. The Eagle’s Nest Treehouse has cold running water, a compost toilet privy on the outside deck, a urinal, and an outdoor shower stall on the lower deck. There is an outdoor kitchen for cooking, and a kitchen sink inside the treehouse.
Question: What is your policy for high risk health conditions and dietary restrictions?
A: Please disclose any medical issues or special dietary issues we need to be aware of. If your are diabetic, Vegan, or gluten intolerant, we are happy to make sure we feed you appropriately. Because we are remote, and have to plan our menu in dance, please inform us well in advanof your dietary needs. We are first aid trained, and there is a clinic, and EMT service available in Seldovia Village. In a dire emergency, we can medivac you. We reserve the right to cancel your stay with no refund if we feel we cannot safely host you do to an undisclosed medical condition. In all cases, travel insurance is recommended.
Question What kind of discounts do you offer?
A: You must book direct, by calling to receive any discounts. We offer 10% discounts to individual veterans, and we love hosting families, so Kids 12 and under are 2/3 price. If you have more than 2 kids, talk to us, we’ll go 1/2 for three or more. We want you to bring your family and be their hero, by building lifetime relationships and memories. Building precious famly memories are a priority.
Q: How difficult is acceding the treehouse property?
A: It requires reasonably ambulatory people, to get in and out of boats, walk on uneven ground, climb an uneven trail to the treehouse, climb stairs at both houses, and a ships ladder through the upper deck opening at the treehouse. We are willing to consider mobility challenged folks, especially veterans that received injuries in service, so talk to us, and we will do our best to work something out. Those that arenot fully ambulatory are best accommodated in the beach house.
Q: Does the fees include gratuities?
A: No, tips are not expected, but are greatly appreciated.
Q: What is your refund policy?
A: If you pay in full, in advance, with the book now feature, a 50% no refund policy is in effect for all reservations. Cancellations before 60 day arrival date will be refunded 50%. No refunds after 60 daydeadline. If you book direct by calling, we will hold your reservation for a 50% non refundable deposit, with the balance due 60 days before arrival. Most plan well in advance, and we often cannot fill cancelled reservations. We recommend trip insurance.
