The Complete Guide

Treehouse Cove Lodge Alaska

A private, all-inclusive wilderness lodge on Kachemak Bay, built for travelers who want Alaska at its most authentic, without compromising on comfort, food, or fishing.

An overview of the lodge

Treehouse Cove Lodge sits on a quiet, forested cove across Kachemak Bay from Homer, Alaska. There are no neighbors, no road noise, and no crowds, just a small handful of guests, the family running the lodge, and ocean, old-growth spruce and protected wilderness surrounding you. Every booking is exclusive use. When you reserve a stay, you reserve the entire property.

The lodge was built by Captain Scott and his family to feel less like a hotel and more like a private home you happen to share with a fishing guide, a chef, and a handful of good friends. It is one package, Premium Private All-Inclusive, and it covers nearly everything from the moment you arrive in Homer to the moment you leave.

Accommodations

The property comfortably hosts up to 6 guests as a standard, with arrangements possible for up to 8. The treehouse is built into the spruce canopy and the beach house sits steps from the water, with large windows opening onto the bay and the mountains beyond. Interiors lean rustic-Alaskan: warm wood, soft linens, and the kind of quiet you only get when the nearest road is a boat ride away.

Common areas, the great room, the deck, the dining table, are designed for the slow part of an Alaska trip: long evenings, second cups of coffee, and the conversations that follow a good day on the water. See the full layout on our accommodations page.

Fishing and activities

Kachemak Bay is one of the most productive saltwater fisheries in North America. From the beach, guests step straight onto Captain Scott's 28 foot landing craft for guided trips targeting halibut, all five species of Pacific salmon, lingcod, and rockfish. Captain Scott runs the boat himself, which means decades of local knowledge and a flexible itinerary that adapts to weather, tides, and what each group actually wants.

Beyond fishing, days might include sea kayaking inside the cove, tide-pooling on the beach, hiking the trails around Seldovia, or simply watching otters, eagles, and the occasional whale from the deck. Detailed options live on the excursions page.

Meals are one of the reasons guests come back. Breakfast is hearty and unhurried. Lunches are packed for the boat or served on the deck between activities. Dinners are multi-course, frequently featuring the day's catch alongside Alaskan staples: fresh halibut and salmon, wild greens, and house-baked breads. There is no menu and no upcharge; the kitchen simply asks about preferences and dietary needs and builds the week around your group.

Location and setting on Kachemak Bay

Treehouse Cove sits on the south side of Kachemak Bay, near the historic village of Seldovia and across the bay from Homer. Guests typically fly into Anchorage, drive or fly to Homer, then meet Captain Scott at the Homer harbor for the boat ride across the bay. An optional direct flight from Anchorage to Seldovia is also available. The trip itself is part of the experience, by the time you arrive, you have already crossed glacier-fed water, watched sea otters drift by, and likely spotted your first eagle.

The cove is sheltered, the water is calm most mornings, and the land around it is old-growth spruce and protected wilderness. There is no town within walking distance and no Wi-Fi-saturated resort next door. That isolation is the point.

What makes it unique

Exclusive use, every time. You never share the lodge, the boat, or the dining table with another group.

Owner-operated. Captain Scott is the guide, the host, and the person who answers the phone.

One honest package. Lodging, meals, guided fishing, and activities are bundled, with no à la carte upsells.

True wilderness setting. No road access, surrounded by old-growth spruce, with wildlife on the property daily.

Small by design. Groups of four to six, and up to eight by arrangement, means real attention, real conversations, and real flexibility.

Who it is for

Treehouse Cove is built for people who want the real Alaska, the fishing, the wildlife, the silence, without giving up the comforts that make a vacation feel like a vacation. It works exceptionally well for small family groups, couples traveling together, anniversary or milestone trips, and corporate retreats that want privacy.

If you want nightlife, shopping, or a polished resort with hundreds of other guests, this is not the right lodge. If you want a private cove, a working boat, and a kitchen that treats dinner like an event, read is Treehouse Cove Lodge worth it next, or check live availability on the rates page.
